Fake news was spreading on social media saying that, Rs 11000/- fine will apply on opening shops or people who will roam around the streets of the Delhi on 22 march 2020. These fake news is spreading in the name of Delhi police.

It is noteworthy that the purported circular is being shared in the view of the ‘Junta curfew’ announced by prime minister Narendra Modi on March 22 between 7 am and 9 pm in the view of the coronavirus outbreak.

There is no media reports on the purported notice which indicates that it is fake news. There is no such kind of information available on Delhi police website. The DCP of south Delhi tweeted that the purported notice is fake and hasn't been issued by Delhi Police.

The DCP's tweet mentioned, "We have spotted this fake notice being circulated purportedly issued by Delhi Police. We have NOT issued any such advisory on imposition of a fine on March 22. Please tell your family and friends that this is FALSE & FAKE."
